We will read exciting books, write creatively in Writer's Notebooks, and participate in collaborative discussions. We started the school year writing memoirs in only six words! Students were asked to tell their own, unique stories by choosing concise powerful words. Our published videos can be seen above!

Explore The World
English is a special class because we are able to explore the world without leaving our room. We read and interpret texts from various culutural viewpoints, we analyze lyrics to songs, and we even use technology to watch video clips from around the world.
Utilize Technology
Here in Bethpage we are lucky to have an extremely useful resource at our fingertips - literally! Chromebooks are a huge asset to our classroom. Not only are we able to create and produce work through various modalities, but also we can utilize the vast resources that the internet has to offer.
Develop Academically
Every student can and will progress in his or her own way!
Homework
Homework is nothing to fear; it is merely an extension of our lessons in class. Homework is an important way for students to practice the skills taught in class that day. It also helps prepare students for the lesson the following day. Assignments for homework should take no more than 30 minutes to complete and are necessary to students' progress and success!
Collaboration
In order to improve our speaking and listening skills, our English class is filled with discussions, partner work, group work, and even Socratic Seminars.
